About

As novel coronavirus disease cases continue to rise in India, home isolation has turned out to be an effective way of isolating and quarantine people who have mild symptoms without straining the hospitals and quarantine facilities.

Main challenge with COVID — 19 which was found on survey was about the logistics and day-to-day routine. since when one or all family members were COVID-19 positive and no one was allowed to enter the house, the family faced issues like getting cooked nutritious food , medicines groceries’ , vegetable etc thus leading to formation of this startup to provide the desired solution which was not available .

BEAT COVID 19 is a start-up working on the welfare of COVID POSTIVE PATIENTS their families, people living in containment zones , patients on home isolation and self-quarantine and elderly living alone by themselves.

Our main idea is to solve the problem of COVID 19 patients and families on home isolation or self-quarantine. The major problem we saw that patient and families faced as soon as the patient was reported COVID 19 positive and was advised home isolation was restricted mobility and further social stigma attached to the disease leading to inability to carry out normal day to day activity and household chores affecting the quality of life ,that is the reason for starting services for COVID 19 affected people to provide them all essential products home delivered in the confines of their homes from one platform on click of a button and thus helping them follow the COVID-19 appropriate behavior and isolation guidelines .

Market Demand

We, after doing a lot of research by taking reviews from covid 19 patients and families who recently suffered from the covid 19 ,people who were in home islolation/ self-quarantine and people who were staying in containment zones by asking them their point of view we got to know that COVID 19 patients and their families were having problems in their day to day activity while performing normal household chores due to the stigma attached and they were ready to pay and use our services to ease some of their suffering at any cost .

There are no such companies in the market providing solely the services to COVID positive patients , people on home isolation , people in containment zone so our uniqueness lies in:-

1) we will be the first company to provide services which are essential for COVID patients and their family to make their life smooth and hassle — free .

2) all services required by the COVID-19 patients will be available on one platform on nominal price .

3)As the company Is started by a student who himself was diagnosed COVID-19 positive and had suffered and faced the problems himself first hand thus understand the need fully and is committed to provide solution .

4) partnership with local shops and nearby pharmacy / labs would be the key resource .

5) Other key resources are delivery providers and its own human resources to manage administrative and technical operations

6). Technology is another resource it uses to operate its apps .

Target Customers

Our actual target customers are COVID-19 positive patients their families , person in quarantine and home isolation , senior citizen living alone and people in containment zones who want products delivered at their doorstep from nearby local shops and stores of groceries ,vegetables, pharmacy, dairy products, on line doctor consultation , lab tests , sanitization services and most important tiffin services in confines of their homes and recuperate fully with this disease without hassles.

Its key activities will include:

1. Building partnerships with eateries ,tiffin services,grocieris shop,vegetable shops,lab s,sanitazion services ,pharmacies and on line consultation with doctors and retail shops .

2. Hiring delivery providers and suppliers (full-time/part-time/freelancers)

3. Acquiring customers and managing their orders

4. Managing delivery and payment process

5. Managing technical operations

6. Updating system and building IT infrastructure

7. Handling queries and concerns of customers and partners

Required Knowledge or Expertise

The things which were required while implementing our startup are:

1) Research: -

As covid 19 is a new disease with WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION declaring it a pandemic affecting globally across all nations the situation created by the disease is new , sufferings unimaginable so the solution designed is also unique .

we first searched on google for knowing estimate of burden of disease in India and Delhi ,current scenario , number of patients suffering from the disease, number of patients in home isolation ,population in containment zone and probability of patient load in near future to know the in future need of the services(source delhi health bulletin)

We searched on google for companies providing similar type of services but could find none .

2) Hardware Required: -

Basically , the only hardware required was only a good working PC and nothing else. On the other way, the user of our product may use PC , smartphone , tablet .

3) Software: -

It requires a good knowledge of programming languages like Python, C++, Java, and HTML. We also require the knowledge of App Development which was done in App Studio and moreover the knowledge of Firebase to input the data in our website, app.

Also, we need to get the knowledge about Google Play Store and its policies and other information required to publish our app. Moreover, we need to know how to buy the domain for our website.

Orders can be placed by users through our mobile app once placed our staff will pack all the desired items and generate a bill which will be sent through email to our coustemer and their items will be sent by our delivery boys who would keep the packed items outside the house with no contact delivery.customers can use debit , credit cards paytm ,paypal and google pay to pay for our products.

Estimated Budget

The budget of our startup is not very expensive. The estimated budget for all things are described below: -

1) For purchasing domain name: 500 to 1000 rs /year

2) For publishing app on Google Play Store: rs 1840 (One Time Pay)

  • 3)Forming of partnership deed: 800 rs (One Time Pay)
  • 4) Payroll expenses for its employees and delivery partners. It also includes incentives and benefits which will be offered to key resources/shops. For example, giving a commission of about 2- 3%.
  • 4) Administrative, advertising, and marketing costs

Marketing Plan

we would like to market our products through social media like facebook page , Instagram , twitter , whatsapp groups and E — mail.

Using Referrals and discounts on referral will also be used as our marketing stratergy.

Pamplets and local print media will be used to cover the customers through RWA, local shops and quarantine centers.

. Revenue Streams of BEAT COVID 19

1. Delivery charges

The first type of revenue stream obtained is from its customers. A nominal delivery fee of Rs. 40 to Rs. 60 is charged from customers on orders below a threshold value of Rs. 250. Would raises the charges during high order demands or unusual weather conditions.

2. Commissions

Will acquires another major part of the revenue stream from commissions. Will collects commissions from shops/labs/chemist to generate sales leads and to deliver their items through BEAT COVID 19 fleet. PATNERS have to pay 15% to 25% on every order placed from BEATCOVID19 website.

3. Advertising

Advertising revenue will be earned in the following ways:

  • Banner Promotions — will promotes and displays ads of various stake holders on iapp and as stakeholders will receive greater visibility via banner promotion and will pay price for the displayed page.
  • Priority listing of shops — will charge labs/chemist/other shops premium rates to give them priority in the list of available services. A stakeholder has to pay high if it wants to be displayed higher on the list.

Risk Analysis

Actually there is not a big risk in implementing on this idea as it was quite affordable for us. The only risk we think is less of COVID positives, but as the Covid vaccines will take time to cover whole population and with WHO predicting that it will take time at least 2 years till 2022 to disease to get stabilize we can safely go ahead with this start up.

Milestone & Timeline

We want to cover up entire India but for that we are trying to cover up Delhi first and that too southeast delhi.

Gradually will cover more districts within 6 months.
